He began his career on the stage and made his screen debut in the British film "The Pillow Book," opposite Jeremy Irons, followed by a lead role in "House of Mirth." In 2004, he starred opposite John Malkovich in the award-winning psychological thriller "In the Loop," and two years later starred opposite Hugh Jackman in "Equilibrium."
